Westboro Baptist Church coming to a town near me
Fred Phelps Westboro “Baptist Church” [emphasis mine, as I know many lovely Baptist church-goers] is coming to my town next week to demonstrate outside a high school. Why in God’s name (literally) they would target this school is beyond me (and I can’t get clarification from their website because Verizon blocks it), and our community is somewhat torn as to how to proceed.

This just came across the transom today and I’m seriously impressed. Talk about a clever way to say, “You wanted a measurable ROI for social media? I’ll give you an ROI.” Save the Children partnered with Groupon for a matching gift campaign, and it’s social media that made it sing. New donors (likely younger donors), new matched money, new exposure to the brand?...

So it’s been about three weeks since I started to really integrate my social media presence and I thought I’d conduct a wee review for myself. Ignore me at you leisure.
I’ve been active in online communities since 1999, always under some pseudonym and generally for nothing more than amusement. I’ve had a Facebook page since they opened things up to non-edu addresses....
